About Nemariko – “Mother”
In the Tohoku region of Japan, a traditional wooden doll in a sitting position is called a Nemariko.
This Nemariko is named “Okāsan” (Mother). It is a symbol of a heartfelt wish for expectant mothers and their babies, praying for a safe delivery and the healthy birth of their child.
A tiny, round baby rests inside the mother's belly.
After the baby is born, you can take it out and use it as a good-luck charm or a keepsake to cherish.
Care Instructions
-
The doll is painted, and the colors may come off. Please avoid touching it with wet hands.
